Back surgery breakthrough? study tests best time for Pain-Blocking shot
NCT ID NCT06933498
Summary
This study aims to find the best timing for a pain-relieving nerve block in patients having surgery for a slipped disc in the lower back. Researchers will compare giving the block before surgery starts versus during the operation. The main goal is to see which timing leads to less use of strong painkillers (opioids) and general anesthesia drugs, and which provides more stable vital signs during and after surgery.
