Does a 'Zap' during surgery lead to lasting arm numbness?
NCT ID NCT06906458
Summary
This study aimed to understand if patients who feel a sudden tingling or 'electric' sensation when receiving a nerve block for shoulder surgery are more likely to have arm numbness, pain, or weakness afterward. Researchers observed 120 patients having this type of surgery, recording any unusual sensations during the block procedure. They then called patients after surgery to check for any lingering neurological symptoms over the following month.
