New study aims to ease pain of hip fracture surgery with targeted nerve blocks

Summary
This study looks at two different nerve blocks—pericapsular nerve block and anterior quadratus lumborum block—to see which one works better for reducing pain when patients are positioned for spinal anesthesia and after hip fracture surgery. About 64 adults aged 30 to 85 will take part. The goal is to find a way to make the procedure less painful and improve recovery.
