Which numbing cocktail works faster for leg surgery pain?

NCT ID NCT07550348

First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tests if mixing two numbing drugs (lidocaine and bupivacaine) works faster than using just one (bupivacaine) for a nerve block before leg surgery. About 60 adults having elective below-knee surgery will receive one of the two treatments. Researchers will measure how quickly the leg goes numb, how long the numbness lasts, and how much pain medicine patients need afterward.
