Back injection tested to ease agony of kidney stones

NCT ID NCT05625802

Summary

This small study tested a nerve block injection in the back, called an Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB), to see if it could relieve the severe pain of kidney stones. It involved 5 patients in the emergency room who had already received one dose of pain medication. The goal was to see if this injection could reduce their pain further and lower the chance they would need more strong pain drugs.
