Numbing shot could ease agony of jaw surgery

Summary

This study is testing whether a nerve-blocking injection given before jaw surgery can reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers afterward. It will involve 60 adults having planned jaw surgery. Researchers will measure how much pain medication patients need and how much pain they feel after the procedure.
