New nerve block could slash painkiller use after common surgery

NCT ID NCT07483190

Summary

This study is testing whether a specific nerve block given before surgery can reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers after a laparoscopic hysterectomy. Sixty women having this common surgery will be randomly assigned to receive either the nerve block or standard pain care. Researchers will measure how much morphine patients use in the first day, their pain levels, and side effects like nausea.
