New nerve block could ease pain and speed recovery after major heart surgery

NCT ID NCT06946290

Summary

This study is testing whether a specific nerve block, given during surgery, can improve recovery and reduce the chance of developing long-term pain after heart surgery. Researchers will compare the nerve block to a placebo in 96 adults having planned heart operations. The main goal is to see if patients who receive the block have better recovery scores and less pain in the months following their surgery.
