First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether a specific nerve block (external oblique intercostal plane block) could reduce the amount of strong painkillers (opioids) needed during gallbladder removal surgery. 80 adults having elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy took part. The goal was to see if the block leads to better pain control and less opioid use during and after the operation.
