Nerve block trial offers hope for ICU patients struggling to breathe

NCT ID NCT07182695

Summary

This study aims to see if a pain-blocking injection in the neck can help relieve the distressing feeling of being unable to breathe (dyspnea) in ICU patients with acute respiratory failure. Researchers will observe 30 patients who receive this injection and measure their breathing difficulty, vital signs, and diaphragm movement over 24 hours. The goal is to find a better way to manage this common and severe symptom in critically ill patients.
