New nerve block could ease back surgery pain, cut opioid use
NCT ID NCT07403734
Summary
This study is testing if a specific type of nerve block, given before surgery, can better control pain for people having an operation for a slipped disc in their lower back. Researchers will compare patients who receive the block to those who do not, measuring their pain levels, need for opioid painkillers, and how quickly they can get moving after surgery. The goal is to see if this approach leads to less pain, fewer side effects from strong pain medications, and a faster recovery.
