Two shots or one? study tests simpler nerve block for safer bladder surgery

NCT ID NCT07481123

Summary

This study compared two different ways of numbing a leg nerve to prevent sudden, involuntary muscle spasms during surgery to remove bladder tumors. Sixty patients aged 50-80 were randomly assigned to receive either a newer, single-injection nerve block or a standard two-injection technique. The goal was to see if the simpler, single-injection method worked just as well at preventing spasms that can make surgery more difficult and risky.
