Summary
This study tested whether pentoxifylline, a drug used for blood flow issues, can protect the kidneys from damage caused by cisplatin chemotherapy in people with head and neck cancer. 90 patients receiving their first cisplatin treatment took part. The goal was to see if pentoxifylline reduces kidney injury and lowers levels of a kidney damage marker.
