NCT ID NCT00930033
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at 452 people with advanced kidney cancer that had spread. It compared the standard approach of surgically removing the kidney (nephrectomy) followed by the drug sunitinib, versus taking sunitinib alone without surgery. The main goal was to see which group lived longer. The trial aimed to clarify whether the added surgery is beneficial for patients already receiving targeted therapy.
