NCT ID NCT06963450

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

About 60% of newborns develop jaundice, which can cause brain damage if untreated. This study tests a smartphone app that uses a photo of the baby's eye to check jaundice levels, aiming to reduce unnecessary blood tests. Researchers will enroll 405 babies to see if the app works as well as current devices but at a lower cost.
