Breast cancer trial adds radiation before surgery – results incomplete
NCT ID NCT02806258
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study looked at women with aggressive breast cancers (triple negative or luminal B) that were too large for breast-conserving surgery at first. It compared standard chemotherapy alone versus chemotherapy plus a short course of focused radiation before surgery. The goal was to see if the combination increased the chance of no cancer remaining at surgery and allowed more women to keep their breast. The trial was terminated early, so final results are not available.
