New wound therapy aims to slash surgery complications for breast cancer patients

Summary
This study is testing if a special vacuum-sealed wound dressing, called negative pressure therapy, can prevent healing problems after complex breast cancer surgery. Researchers will compare this dressing to standard care in 254 women who are at higher risk for complications like infections or wounds reopening. The goal is to see if this approach leads to fewer problems, faster healing, and a better recovery experience.
