NCT ID NCT02918955

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at people with advanced head and neck cancer that had spread to lymph nodes. It compared two approaches: having surgery to remove those lymph nodes before chemo-radiation, versus chemo-radiation alone. The goal was to see if the surgery could reduce side effects and improve quality of life. The study enrolled 65 participants and measured short- and long-term side effects, as well as quality of life changes over two years.
