New exercise combo may beat standard stretching for neck pain

NCT ID NCT07332845

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a specific set of exercises (called symmetrical scapula-pelvis patterns) can reduce pain and improve movement in people with chronic neck pain and tight hamstrings. 156 adults aged 18-40 will be split into two groups: one doing the new exercises, the other doing standard stretching and a muscle relaxation technique. Researchers will measure pain, neck movement, and flexibility over six weeks.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation exercises

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a more effective exercise routine for people with chronic neck pain and tight hamstrings.

What could go wrong
