Breathing easier: study tests two delivery methods for lung mucus drug

NCT ID NCT07293884

Summary

This study aims to see if inhaling a mucus-thinning drug (N-acetylcysteine) through a nebulizer is as good as or better than receiving it through an IV drip for adults hospitalized with a bronchiectasis flare-up. It will measure how well the drug helps clear thick mucus from the lungs and makes it easier to cough up. The goal is to improve breathing comfort during these episodes.
