Breathing in relief: study tests inhaled painkiller for kids in ER
NCT ID NCT03950817
Summary
This study aimed to find the best dose of inhaled ketamine for quickly reducing pain in children and teenagers in the emergency room. Researchers compared three different strengths of the medicine, given through a special breath-activated nebulizer, in 80 young patients with various types of sudden, moderate-to-severe pain. The goal was to see which dose worked best and safest when an IV line wasn't available or practical.
