Student nurses text weekly tips to help adults ditch bad habits
NCT ID NCT05790395
Summary
This study tested whether a community program could help prevent chronic diseases like heart disease or diabetes. Researchers trained nursing students to coach 330 adults in Hong Kong on changing risky behaviors like smoking, unhealthy eating, or lack of exercise. For six months, the coaching group also received weekly WhatsApp or WeChat reminders to stick to their health goals, while a comparison group just got a health information leaflet.
