800 babies tracked for decades to uncover hernia risk

Summary
This study follows about 800 babies who have a small opening in their belly wall (found during surgery for another stomach issue). Researchers will check in with families each year until the child turns 18 to see if and when a hernia develops. The goal is to learn how often hernias happen and how long it takes for them to appear.
