Simple antibiotic pill cuts nasal polyp return by Two-Thirds after surgery

NCT ID NCT07316959

Summary

This study tested whether a low-dose antibiotic (clarithromycin) taken daily for three months could help prevent nasal polyps from growing back after surgery. It involved 100 patients who had surgery for chronic sinusitis with polyps. The group that took the antibiotic had significantly fewer polyps return and reported better symptom relief compared to those who only received standard post-surgery care.
