Better breathing during scopes? study tests two oxygen methods

NCT ID NCT07500779

Summary

This study tested whether a nasal mask works better than standard nasal tubes at preventing low oxygen levels in patients sedated for stomach or colon exams. Researchers randomly assigned 600 adults to receive oxygen through one of the two devices during their procedure. The goal was to see if the mask reduces breathing problems when doctors carefully monitor sedation depth.
