First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at why children with narcolepsy often gain weight and become obese. Researchers measured the total energy burned over 24 hours in 24 children with narcolepsy or hypersomnia, both at home and in the hospital. The goal was to see if a change in metabolism explains their tendency to gain weight, since the cause is not yet known.
