New cream plus light therapy aims to heal radiation burns in cancer patients
NCT ID NCT07086638
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a new cream made from Prussian blue nanoparticles, combined with a special light therapy, to heal severe (grade III) radiation skin burns in head and neck cancer patients. The cream works by mopping up harmful molecules and, when activated by light, produces gentle heat to speed healing. Only 5 people will take part, and the main goal is to see if the burns improve over time.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Prussian blue-based nanozyme cream plus near-infrared light therapy
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a new way to heal severe radiation skin burns without drugs, reducing pain and infection risk.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, tiny trial with only 5 people. The approach is experimental and may not work better than current care. Allergic reactions to the cream are possible.
