First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a monthly injection of naltrexone can prevent fentanyl overdose deaths in people who use stimulants like cocaine or methamphetamine but do not intentionally use opioids. About 100 participants will either receive the shot or standard harm reduction care for six months. Researchers will track how well the treatment is accepted and whether it reduces overdose events.
