NCT ID NCT07079241

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach to opioid overdoses: volunteer first responders get a smartphone alert and rush to the scene with naloxone, a medicine that reverses overdose. The goal is to see if this system can get help to victims faster than waiting for an ambulance. About 1,000 volunteers in Sweden will be trained and equipped, and researchers will track how often they successfully give naloxone before emergency services arrive.
