New combo treatment aims to reduce disability after brain hemorrhage

NCT ID NCT07471256

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new approach for people with a serious type of brain bleed (lobar intracerebral hemorrhage). It combines a highly precise, computer-guided surgery to drain the blood with a clot-busting drug called tenecteplase. The goal is to see if this treatment helps more people recover and walk independently after 6 months, compared to standard care. About 636 adults with moderate-sized bleeds will take part.
