First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at 292 people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) to see if the amount of scarring in the liver is linked to heart disease risk. Researchers used painless imaging tests to measure liver stiffness and coronary calcium. The goal was to better understand which NAFLD patients might need heart screening.
