Scientists track Food's journey in fatty liver patients

NCT ID NCT02520609

Summary

This study aimed to understand how people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) process food differently than healthy people. Researchers compared 53 participants—some with NAFLD, some with metabolic syndrome but no NAFLD, and healthy volunteers—by monitoring their metabolism for 24 hours after a standardized meal. The goal was to identify unique metabolic patterns that might explain why fat builds up in the liver.
