NCT ID NCT07323446
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether N-Acetylcysteine (NAC), a supplement, can help children ages 6-12 with emotional dysregulation (intense mood swings, anger, or irritability). About 80 kids with the condition will receive NAC or a placebo for 8 weeks, while 40 typically developing kids serve as a comparison group. Brain scans (MRI) will be used to see how the treatment affects the brain. The goal is to see if NAC can ease symptoms like mania and depression.
