Brain stress test: can a common supplement ease debilitating fatigue?
NCT ID NCT04542161
Summary
This study is testing if a supplement called N-acetylcysteine (NAC) can reduce harmful stress in the brains of people with chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). Researchers will give different doses of NAC or a placebo to about 95 participants for four weeks and use brain scans and blood tests to see if it helps. The main goal is to understand how NAC works, not to prove it's an effective treatment yet.
