Brain scans & common supplement tested for Kids' emotional outbursts
NCT ID NCT07323446
Summary
This study aims to see if a supplement called N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) can help children aged 6-12 who struggle with severe emotional dysregulation, which involves intense mood swings, irritability, and outbursts. Over 8 weeks, 80 children will take either NAC or a placebo (inactive pill), while researchers track their symptoms and use brain scans to look for changes. Another 40 children without these symptoms will also have brain scans to provide a comparison.
