Researchers test simpler muscle test and special exercises for rare muscle diseases

NCT ID NCT05027152

Summary

This study had two main goals. First, it aimed to see if a simpler, quicker test for muscle function (called FI-3) gave results similar to more complex, expensive lab tests. Second, it tested whether a specific exercise program focused on repeating tasks was safe and helpful for people with inflammatory muscle diseases like polymyositis and dermatomyositis. The study involved a small group of patients to gather this information.
