Scientists probe Eye's hidden strength to sharpen laser vision surgery
NCT ID NCT04817592
Summary
This study aims to better understand the stiffness and material properties of the cornea (the clear front part of the eye) in people getting laser surgery for nearsightedness. Researchers will test tiny pieces of corneal tissue normally thrown away after surgery and compare them to special light scans taken before the operation. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help eye surgeons plan future vision correction procedures more accurately for each patient.
