New glasses for nearsighted kids: will they wear them?

NCT ID NCT07340931

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This pilot study is testing how well children aged 6 to 16 adapt to Essilor Stellest myopia-control spectacle lenses. The goal is to see if kids find them comfortable and easy to wear in real life, which is important for long-term use. Fifty children with progressive myopia will wear the lenses and answer a questionnaire about comfort and satisfaction. This study does not test whether the lenses slow myopia, only how well children tolerate them.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Essilor Stellest 2.0 myopia-control spectacle lenses
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could show that these lenses are comfortable and easy for children to wear daily, supporting their long-term use to slow myopia progression.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early observational study with only 50 participants. It does not measure how well the lenses control myopia, only comfort and adaptation. Results may not apply to all children.
