Breathing exercises could ease sleep apnea in military members

Summary

This study tests whether simple breathing and drinking exercises can improve sleep quality in 60 U.S. service members with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), some of whom also have a history of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Participants will do either high- or low-resistance exercises for 3 months. The goal is to see if these exercises reduce sleep apnea events and improve oxygen levels and daytime sleepiness.
