Tiny heart pump tested as lifeline for failing hearts

NCT ID NCT01831544

Summary

This study tested a small mechanical pump called the MVAD system, which helps the heart pump blood in people with very severe, advanced heart failure. The main goal was to see if the device was safe and helped patients survive for at least six months. Researchers also tracked complications, hospital stays, and whether patients felt better and could be more active.
