Classical music may soothe pain and anxiety in lung cancer surgery patients
NCT ID NCT07235098
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether listening to classical music during a hospital stay can lower distress and pain in people with suspected or confirmed lung cancer who are having minimally invasive lung surgery. Half of the 74 participants will receive the music therapy, while the other half will not. Researchers will measure changes in distress, pain, stress hormone levels, and the need for extra pain medication.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, drug-free way to ease distress and pain for lung cancer patients after surgery.
