Headphones & harmony: music fights surgery jitters in kids
NCT ID NCT02870517
Summary
This study tested whether listening to calming music before and during the start of anesthesia could reduce stress in children having orthopedic surgery. Researchers gave 212 kids aged 10-16 noise-canceling headphones with music they chose from playlists. They measured changes in the children's heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing to see if the music helped them relax.
