Summary
This study tests whether playing music during recovery from electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) can reduce postictal agitation—a common side effect where patients become restless or confused. Researchers will monitor 92 adults with severe depression for signs of agitation after their ECT sessions. If effective, music could offer a simple, drug-free way to improve comfort and safety during recovery.
