Music and acupressure may soothe dialysis needle pain

NCT ID NCT07657923

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether listening to music and applying acupressure before needle insertion can reduce pain in dialysis patients. 72 participants were split into four groups: music plus acupressure, acupressure alone, music alone, or standard care. Pain was measured during three sessions. The results suggest that combining music and acupressure may help ease the discomfort of needle insertion.
