Sound waves take aim at breast cancer in early feasibility trial

Summary
This study tests a new device that uses focused ultrasound waves guided by MRI to partially destroy breast tumors. About 34 women with breast cancer will have half of one tumor treated with this method before their standard surgery. The goal is to see if the procedure is safe, tolerable, and effective, while ensuring the remaining tumor tissue can still be tested for treatment planning.
