New ultrasound zaps breast tumors before knife

Summary
This early-stage study tests a new device that uses focused ultrasound waves guided by MRI to partially destroy breast tumors. About 34 women with breast cancer will have half of one tumor ablated before their standard surgery. The goal is to see if the procedure is safe, tolerable, and effective, while preserving enough tumor tissue for normal testing.
