New portable scan could track muscle wasting in heart patients
NCT ID NCT03948776
Summary
This study tested whether a portable ultrasound machine could accurately measure muscle loss in people with heart failure. Researchers compared the ultrasound results to standard X-ray scans in 48 participants, including healthy volunteers and heart failure patients. The goal was to validate a safer, more accessible way to monitor muscle wasting, which contributes to physical limitations in heart failure.
