Scientists probe muscles of frail seniors to unlock recovery secrets
NCT ID NCT04764617
Summary
This study aims to understand how muscles work at a cellular level in frail older adults who have broken a hip. Researchers will analyze small muscle samples taken from 80 patients during their hip repair surgery. The goal is to learn if muscle quality, not just muscle amount, affects how well people recover, which could guide future treatments for frailty.
