Muscle relaxants tested to help COVID-19 patients breathe

NCT ID NCT04922814

Summary

This study compared two approaches for helping COVID-19 patients with severe lung failure who needed breathing machines. Researchers tested whether adding muscle relaxants to standard sedation improved oxygen levels and survival compared to sedation alone. The trial involved 40 critically ill patients in intensive care and measured breathing improvement, organ function, and 28-day survival.
