Simple scan could replace CT for tracking muscle loss in Crohn's patients

NCT ID NCT07441447

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple, radiation-free ultrasound scan can reliably measure muscle loss in people with Crohn's disease. Researchers will compare ultrasound measurements of arm, leg, and stomach muscles to the current 'gold standard' CT scan in 100 adult patients. The goal is to find a safer, more accessible way to monitor muscle health in people with this chronic condition.
